Canadians have celebrated the battle as the birth of Canada as a nation on the world stage, but most do not know how or why it happened, or how other nations at the time viewed it, nor how it fitted into the larger picture of the Western Front. They also know little of how crucial the Vimy front was o the Canadians and the Allies one year later - when the Allies nearly lost the War. Duff will be presenting with materials gathered over twenty-five years of research and four visits to the battlefield while teaching at GPRC
